News from Edie Clark
January 1, 1970
Hi, all,I’ve now officially joined the modern world: I’m not only on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Edie-Clark/146777182010104?ref=ts&v=wall) but I’m also on Twitter! (I have no idea how to link you to that but I’m confident that if you Twitter, you’ll be able to find it faster than I can.) Believe me, I would not have done this without some major urging on the part of those in the know, and, I might add, without the considerable assistance from -- those in the know. The entire concept is still outside of my grasp but I will use it somewhat in the same way I use my blog – if something big happens (such as the publication of my new book: States of Grace: Encounters with Real Yankees), I’ll be using that to let you know or if I read something that inspires me or intrigues me, I’ll be posting that on the line. I promise I will never tell you what I ate for breakfast or send you a photo of my fun day at the beach. The whole thing, such a part of modern life now, is still something of a foreign concept to me and yet I do understand the usefulness of having the facility to be in touch so instantly – and in a way that’s your choice, not mine. So, if you are an FB kind of person or if you like to Twitter (I confess I will only send out posts but have no idea how these are received. I don’t even know how that happens), I just wanted to let you know that the link has been made, from me to you, if you so choose. Meanwhile, in the blogosphere, I’ve been blogging about Iceland (http://edieclark.com/blog.htm) for a while now and will switch back to news and musings from Mary’s Farm. I think Iceland is a book! Life is amazing as it keeps unrolling in new and interesting ways. I hope this finds you well – and reading!
